The Hmong are one of the fastest growing ethnic origin populations in the United States. The
enumerated Hmong population in the U.S. grew from about 94,000 in the 1990 census to
170,000 in the 2000 census. With this expansion in the population has come an increased
interest among students, scholars, service professionals and the general public in
Hmong-related written works, multimedia materials and websites.
